HFIF Pharma Edition @ Pharmaconex

The Pharma Edition of the Health Finance & Investment Forum (HFIF) was held on 3rd of April, 2014 in Cairo, Egypt.

This event was organized as a one-day event focusing for the first time on the potentials in the pharmaceutical industry. The event was held during Pharmaconex 2014 (www.pharmaconex.net) the leading industrial pharmaceutical event in North Africa and Middle East. Next to Pharmaconex, the key partners of the HFIF Pharma Edition were the Egyptian Private Equity Association (EPEA) (www.epea-eg.org) which upholds the key players of the private equity arena in Egypt, the Egyptian Industrial Chamber of Pharmaceuticals and the Syndicate of Toll Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies.

The event was structured into:
  • VIP Roundtable Discussion
    During this first part of the event, it became very clear that an increased collaboration between the pharmaceutical and finance industry are needed to achieve the objectives of both sectors.
  • "Meet the Investor" Lounge
    In this setting, key decision makers from pharmaceutical companies had the opportunity to meet with finance leaders to discuss potentials for future cooperation.
Access to Capital for Egyptian Pharmaceutical Companies

The HFIF in cooperation with Pharmaconex and the Egyptian Private Equity Association (EPEA) organized a preparatory session on the HFIF Pharma Edition to take place on 3rd April.

The participants of this session were around 25 key persons from Egyptian pharmaceutical companies who wanted to learn more about the opportunities connected to the HFIF Pharma Edition.

Consultative Roundtable- EBI & HFIF

Small and Medium Enterprises Unit, Egyptian Banking Institute in cooperation with the HFIF (Health Finance Investment Forum) invited to a consultative roundtable on MONDAY the 13th of MAY 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event took place in the Egyptian Banking Institute Headquarters-
22 A, Dr. Anwar El Mofty Street, Tiba 2000 Bldg, Nasr City, 5th floor, 504.

The aim of the event was to inform both the banking and healthcare sectors about the dynamics of both industries and to explore shared growth potentials. The event was also focusing on identifying challenges related to access to finance for SMEs in healthcare and on developing appropriate financial tools in order to overcome these obstacles. This was achieved by a constructive dialogue between the SMEs and the banking sector.

HFIF CFO Network: "Optimizing Pricing Policies in Hospitals"

In cooperation with ALROWAD, the HFIF hosted the bi-monthly roundtable of the HFIF CFO Network with the title "Optimizing Pricing Policies in Hospitals".

The aim of the event was to further elaborate pricing policies in hospitals in Egypt and to discuss how these can be improved to increase the profitability, quality, affordability and sustainability of services.

The event took place on 7th of March, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in ALROWAD's premises, 5 Amman Square, Dokki, Giza.
“Private Equity Investment for the Healthcare Sector: Discovering Opportunities & Overcoming Obstacles”

In cooperation with AL ROWAD (www.alrowad-egypt.org) and EPEA (http://www.epea-eg.org/), the HFIF was hosting an event in order to build bridges between the healthcare and finance sector with the aim to inform about equity financing in the healthcare sector. The meeting included presentations and expert-to-expert information exchange.

The event took place on the 17th of March 2013 in the Novotel Hotel, Nile Ballroom in Zamalek, Cairo from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
